For VASCERN Members
The Clinical Patient Management System (CPMS 2.0) is an essential tool for healthcare providers (HCPs) involved in VASCERN. This secure platform facilitates collaboration among experts to provide high-quality care for patients with rare vascular diseases.
If you would like to join the CPMS and are part of one of VASCERN’s Healthcare Providers (HCPs), first contact your HCP’s lead representative for authorization. After obtaining authorization, contact the VASCERN CPMS Helpdesk for further assistance with registration.
Below is a step by step guide on how to register, and use CPMS 2.0.
To access CPMS 2.0, you’ll need an EU Login account with two-factor authentication (2FA). Here’s how to get started:
1. Create an EU Login Account
- Visit the EU Login account creation page and follow the steps to create an account.
2. Set Up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
You will have to configure your EU account with two-factor authentication (2FA). Two-factor authentication ensures secure access to the platform. You can find more information about second verification factors here: What second factor can I configure with my account? – European Union
- Configure your account for 2FA using one of these recommended methods:
- EU Login Mobile App PIN or QR Code: Download the EU Login Mobile App and configure it following these instructions.
- eID Authentication: Use your national electronic ID (eID). Note that this option may not be available in all European countries. Learn more here.
Important: The SMS-based 2FA option is being phased out. To avoid disruptions, configure one of the recommended methods above.
3. Access the EU Login User Guide
For detailed instructions on setting up your account and 2FA, consult the EU Login User Guide.
Once your EU Login account is set up and authorized, you’ll receive a notification from the ERN IT Team (different from VASCERN CPMS Helpdesk).
1. Use the CPMS Login Link
Log in to CPMS 2.0 using this link: https://cpms2.ern-net.eu.
2. Submit Your Request
During your first login, you will be asked to sign in the new system. Please fill in all the required fields and submit your request.
3. Wait for Approval
You’ll receive an email notification once your request is submitted and another when it’s approved by the local VASCERN administrator.
Once registered, you can use CPMS 2.0 to discuss clinical cases and organize meetings with experts.

- When uploading medical documents, please make sure to have checked and manually removed all identifiable personal data from the uploaded files, including comments and annotations.

CPMS 2.0 is designed with GDPR compliance in mind. Each HCP acts as a joint data controller for patient information processed in the context of the work of the ERNs using the CPMS 2.0 platform to ensure patient data is handled responsibly.
Patient Informed Consent
- Each HCP is responsible for creating and managing their own patient consent form and archiving all signed forms.
- The European Commission provides a Patient Consent Form Template that aligns with the platform’s functionalities.
- While using this template is recommended, HCPs may opt for alternative forms that meet GDPR requirements.
Data Oversight
National supervisory authorities oversee the compliance of patient consent forms with GDPR regulations, ensuring data is managed according to legal standards.
