VASCERN Summer School 2024 Edition

The first edition of the VASCERN Summer School was a remarkable success with over 250 participants from all over Europe. The Summer School is now in full swing, with participants having completed the online module, which ran from February to May 2024, and we’re now eagerly preparing for the onsite module in Paris this September. This year’s program has attracted an enthusiastic group of medical students, residents and postdoctoral researchers from across Europe, all eager to deepen their understanding of rare vascular diseases.

Online Module (February 3 – May 30, 2024)

During the online module, participants engaged in a comprehensive curriculum covering a wide range of topics, including:

• Rare Vascular Diseases: Detailed insights into conditions such as Marfan syndrome, Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia, Vascular Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, and more.
• Genetics and Research: Cutting-edge developments and methodologies in the study and treatment of rare vascular diseases.
• Psychological and Patient Care Aspects: Understanding the holistic care of patients with rare vascular conditions.

The online courses were delivered by leading experts and patient representatives, providing participants with a rich, multidisciplinary perspective. This phase of the program has been a resounding success, with participants from across Europe deepening their knowledge and preparing for the next phase of the summer school.
