Neurovascular Diseases (NEUROVASC)
The Neurovascular Diseases (NEUROVASC) European Patient Advocacy Group (ePAG) is committed to ensuring that the needs and perspectives of patients with rare neurovascular diseases are fully integrated into VASCERN’s clinical care, research, and advocacy efforts. Through close collaboration with healthcare professionals, the NEUROVASC ePAG works to improve diagnosis, treatment, and long-term care for patients living with conditions such as CADASIL, Moyamoya disease, and other rare neurovascular disorders.
What are Neurovascular Diseases?
Neurovascular diseases refer to conditions that affect the blood vessels of the brain and spinal cord, leading to issues such as strokes, aneurysms, and other neurological complications. Rare neurovascular conditions, such as CADASIL (Cerebral Autosomal Dominant Arteriopathy with Subcortical Infarcts and Leukoencephalopathy) and Moyamoya Angiopathy, require specialised care and lifelong management to reduce the risk of severe outcomes, including stroke and cognitive decline.
Meet the NEUROVASC ePAG Representatives
CADASIL and Moya Moya Angiopathy are the main diseases covered by the Neurovascular Diseases Working Group (NEUROVASC WG). Elisabeth LISACK from France is the ePAG co-chair for this group, representing the Association CADASIL France.
