Medium Sized Arteries (MSA)
The Medium-Sized Arteries (MSA) European Patient Advocacy Group (ePAG) is dedicated to ensuring that the voices of patients living with rare medium-sized artery diseases, such as Vascular Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (vEDS) and other related disorders, are central to the work of VASCERN.
What are Medium-Sized Arteries (MSA) Diseases?
Medium-Sized Arteries (MSA) diseases affect the medium-sized arteries in the body and can lead to serious complications such as arterial dissection, aneurysm, or rupture. Conditions like Vascular Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (vEDS), which is a genetic disorder, result in fragile arteries that can tear easily. Early diagnosis, proper care, and ongoing monitoring are essential to managing these conditions and preventing life-threatening complications.
