Funding & Partnerships
VASCERN relies on various funding sources to support its mission of improving care for patients with rare vascular diseases across Europe. Our funding is essential for a variety of projects, including registries, clinical patient management systems (CPMS), eLearning, and monitoring, all aimed at improving the diagnosis, treatment, and management of rare vascular diseases.
Primary Funding Sources
European Union Funding
- EU4Health Programme: This is a primary source of funding for VASCERN. The EU4Health Programme supports various health initiatives, including those that address rare diseases. VASCERN benefits from this funding to carry out its work packages, which include project coordination, dissemination of information, evaluation, and training.
National and Regional Contributions
- VASCERN receives additional funding from the French government. Many VASCERN member institutions also receive additional financial support from their respective national and regional governments. This support is crucial for maintaining the infrastructure and operational capabilities of these institutions.
Collaborative Projects and Grants
- VASCERN participates in various collaborative projects and research initiatives that receive grants from multiple sources. These projects often involve partnerships with universities, research organizations, and other healthcare networks across Europe.
How Funding Supports Our Mission
- Clinical Trials and Research: Funding enables VASCERN to conduct clinical trials and observational studies that are crucial for advancing medical knowledge and improving patient care. These studies often lead to new treatment protocols and clinical guidelines that benefit patients with rare vascular diseases.
- Training and Education: Funds are used to develop and deliver comprehensive educational programs for healthcare professionals and patients. This includes interactive learning modules, webinars, and the VASCERN Summer School under the ERASMUS+ program. These educational initiatives ensure that medical professionals are equipped with the latest knowledge and best practices in the field of rare vascular diseases.
- Development of Clinical Tools: Financial support is essential for creating and maintaining clinical decision support tools, such as practice guidelines, outcome measures, and patient pathways. These tools help standardize care and improve patient outcomes across Europe.
- Patient Support and Resources: VASCERN uses its funding to produce and translate educational materials and resources for patients.
Partnerships
