Tackling rare diseases a ‘European success story’, states CEO of Eurordis Yann Le Cam

During the event « Equal access to care for rare diseases » organised by Friends of Europe (a leading Brussels-based think tank), that took place in Brussels on June 26, 2019,  Eurordis’ CEO Yann Le Cam highlighted the success of the policies put in place to support people with rare diseases.

He pointed out that « The
landscape has changed drastically; expertise and innovative technologies that
can potentially benefit people living with a rare disease have been developed.”.
He also made the link with the work done by the ERNs : « which was thanks in part to the
establishment of European Reference Networks (ERNs), which were launched two
years ago ».
