Pregnancy
Research Studies
The Pregnancy Transversal Working Group (WG) at VASCERN is involved in research aimed at improving pregnancy outcomes for women with rare vascular diseases. The group collaborates with healthcare professionals and researchers across Europe to address the unique challenges faced by pregnant women with conditions such as Heritable Thoracic Aortic Diseases (HTAD), Vascular Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (vEDS), and Neurovascular Diseases. This page highlights the research studies currently being conducted, as well as completed studies that have contributed to improving care standards and treatment pathways.
Ongoing Research Studies
- Transversal ERN Survey on Pregnancy and Family Planning
This survey gathers data across European Reference Networks (ERNs) to understand the experiences and needs of women with rare vascular diseases when it comes to pregnancy and family planning. The aim is to identify gaps in care and develop tailored support and guidelines for these patients.
- Delphi Study on Pregnancy and Drugs in Vascular Rare Diseases
This Delphi study focuses on the use of medications during pregnancy in women with rare vascular diseases. By gathering expert consensus, the study aims to develop safe guidelines for drug use during pregnancy, ensuring both maternal and fetal safety.
