Get ready for a unique meeting of minds in cardiovascular genetics!

The ESC Cardio Genomics 2025 meeting will take place on 5–6 December 2025 in Lisbon, Portugal, bringing together international experts to explore the role of genetics in cardiovascular care.

This event, organised by the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Council on Cardiovascular Genomics, will focus on the use of genomic information in diagnosing and treating inherited heart and vascular diseases. The programme includes scientific sessions, workshops, and discussions on gene therapies, rare conditions, and advances in personalised treatment.

About the event

The two-day meeting will be held at the Lisbon School of Medicine, University of Lisbon. It is open to clinicians, researchers, trainees, genetic counsellors, and others interested in cardiovascular genomics.

In addition to expert talks, the programme includes two workshops on:

  • Interpretation of genetic variants
  • Genomic medicine rules

Attendees can also submit abstracts, participate in discussions, and access networking sessions.

 

VASCERN HTAD Working Group speakers

Several members of the VASCERN Heritable Thoracic Aortic Diseases (HTAD) Working Group will contribute to the scientific programme. Among them are:

  • Prof. Bart Loeys
  • Prof. Julie De Backer
  • Dr. Laura Muino
  • Prof. Eloisa Arbustini

They will speak in sessions covering a range of topics, including aortopathies, genetic variant interpretation, ethical aspects of genomic testing, and pediatric cardiovascular genetics.

Early registration fees are available until 13 October 2025, with reduced rates for students, trainees, nurses, and genetic counsellors.
